Airport Pick Up
What To Expect
FUA staff will meet you in the Arrivals Hall in Pisa Airport wearing red FUA tshirts, and take you to your assigned apartment by private bus. There will be three buses leaving from Pisa at the following times:
Based on your arrival time you will be placed in one of the three pick up slots. Please note that Pisa airport pick up is included for all CIS Abroad students, and if FUA asks for cash payment, please let them know that it is already included on their CIS Abroad invoice!
Independent Arrival
You must go on your own to the SLD office:📍 Via Sant’Agostino 46 (9:00 AM - 7:00 PM) to pick up your key, then proceed to your apartment.‍
Getting to Sant'Agostino 46
Train from Pisa Airport to Via Sant’Agostino 46:
The easiest way to reach La Spezia from Pisa Airport is by train. First, take the
Pisamover bus from the airport to Pisa's central station. At the station, buy a ticket for a direct train to La Spezia. Be sure to validate your ticket before boarding. If you have trouble with the ticket machines, there are info points at the station where staff can help you. Once you arrive at La Spezia central station, you can either walk to the check-in office to collect your apartment keys or take a taxi.
Train from Genova Airport to Via Sant’Agostino 46:
To get to La Spezia from Genova Airport, walk (15 minutes) or take a taxi (5 minutes, taxi number: 010 5966) to Genova Cornigliano train station. From there, take a direct train to La Spezia. Remember to validate your ticket before boarding. If you need assistance with the ticket machines, there are info points at the station with helpful staff. Once at La Spezia central station, you can walk to the check-in office for your apartment keys or take a taxi.
Train from Bologna Airport to Via Sant’Agostino 46:
To reach La Spezia from Bologna Airport, take the Marconi Express bus, which will take you directly to Bologna's central train station. From there, take a train to La Spezia. You might need to change trains in Parma. Don't forget to validate your ticket before boarding. If you have trouble with the ticket machines, staff at the station can assist you. Once you arrive at La Spezia central station, you can either walk to the check-in office or take a taxi.
WHAT TO DO IF: The unexpected happens
YOU MISS A FLIGHT OR HAVE A DELAY
If you miss your flight or a connection, do not panic! First, go to the ticket counter for the airline that issued your ticket to make the next available flight arrangements.
If you miss a flight or there is a flight delay, Speak to your airline to rebook, then call or email FUA at sld-studentservices@5terreprogram.fua.it or call +39 01871755001.
Include your new flight number & arrival time in the communication.
YOUR LUGGAGE GETS LOST
If the airline has misplaced your luggage, you must first file a lost baggage report with the airline before exiting customs. Once you have done this, you should exit the customs area and look for FUA staff at the arrivals gate. You must complete the lost baggage report before exiting customs.

Arriving outside the pick up window?
Check-in is only available 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM on the arrival date.
If you’re arriving outside the pick-up window, you’ll be responsible for your transportation and accommodation until the program start date.
